'Yuvasena' is the Telugu version of 4 The People (Malayalam), which created waves in Kerala for its music and youthful approach. Jayaraj who has given 22 films in Malayalam has cleverly adopted the Telugu style of story telling and clearly wrapped the film as one that tells about young revolutionaries. Though the film starts with a serious tone it later on boils down to song and dance. The major plus points of the film are R D Rajashekhar's excellent camera work, Antony's slick editing and of course Jassie Gift's extraordinary music.
Story:'Yuvasena' tells the story of four friends, who stand against the corruption and injustice in the society. Vivek (Bharat), Aravind (Sarvanand), Siva (Kishore) and Rafi (Padma Kumar) who turn vigilante in their fight against corruption. They open a website and ask the public to mail them about their grievances and problems. They shortlist the person with maximum complaints and track him down and punish him by chopping their hands or fingers. Their target includes a corrupt doctor, a government sales tax officer and a local goonda. ACP Sarath Chandra (Suresh Menon) is the police officer appointed to capture the students. Revathi, a co student and sister of Sarath Chandra befriends the four students. Gopika is the love interest of Bharath. The rest of the story is all about how Sarath Chandra traces the 4 people and how the legacy of '4 The People' continues.
Music:The fusion of reggae with Indian ragas makes the music of Jassie gift different from other composers.
Performance: Sarvanand gave a top notch performance among the four youngsters. Bharat is good at dance movements. Kishore and Padma Kumar are adequate. Suresh Menon is impressive as the tough cop. Revathy is fair as the sister of cop and she has more footage in the film than heroine Gopika
Verdict Above Average.
