'Yuvaratna', is a teenage love story. The film depicts how the habits and attitude of a boy born in a rich family reflect on his friends in the society. How the boy realized the problem and won the love of the girl is the subject of the film.

Ratna (Taraka Ratna), son of Prakash (Chandramohan) and Bharati (Sudha), is a happy go lucky kind of boy. They pamper him so much and at the same time Ratna loves his sister Sirisha [Krishnapriya] very much. Both Ratna and Sirisha move closely with their friends. Ratna always goes to a computer institute and enjoys life with the girls there. His daily chore is nothing but moving with friends and passing time in a jolly way right from the morning till late in the night.
Sandhya (Jivida) stays in her uncle Radhakrishna's (Tanikella Bharani) house opposite to Ratna's house. She joins a computer institute. Both the families move together in a friendly manner and at the same time, she befriends Ratna at the computer institute. Once, Sandhya's uncle and aunt go out on a work and leave her in Ratna's house. At the same time, Ratna's parents and sister go out to attend a wedding. So Ratna and Sandhya stay alone in the house. Ratna's friends think that something had happed between Ratna and Sandhya. Ratna also lies in front of his friends that they played some mischief when they were alone. But Sandhya is unaware of this.
Later, Sandhya's marriage gets fixed and Ratna's parents go to the wedding. However, the bridegroom is the friend of Ratna's friend Prabhu (Chitram Sreenu). Prabhu on realizing that Sandhya is the bride tells his friend that there was an affair between Ratna and Sandhya. As a result, the marriage gets disrupted. Again, Sandhya returns to her uncle Radhakrishna's house. Again, Sandhya and Ratna move together. On noticing them Prabhu tells how Sandhya's marriage was spoiled and both of them quarrel over the issue. After a few days, Ratna decides to marry Sandhya. On the D-Day, Sandhya slaps Ratna and chides him that her marriage was flopped because of him. Unable to digest the things, Ratna leaves for Chennai. Meanwhile, Sandhya comes to the station and they unite together.
Tarakaratna needs to improve his body language and dialogue modulation. The audiences could watch the hero if he possesses a heroic personality. For Jivida it is a debut film in Tollywood. She also needs to improve her acting talents. Though the songs are audible, the choreography is not that impressive.
