'Villain' is the remake of tamil movie 'Dum'. The first half of the film is quite dull, while the second half is slightly better. poor screenplay, scene by scene remaking of its original Tamil version, director's failure in establishing scenes and improper timing of songs made the 'Villain' a little boring, despite Rajasekhar's good performance. The story narration is pathetic.

Story Siva (Rajasekhar) is a bus conductor. On the other side of the coin, he is a notorious thief, who always robs the corrupt and those who loot the public money. In fact, he is the modern Robinhood, who helps the charity homes of physically disabled and mentally challenged people, with the money earned by robbing such people. In fact, he turns a thief, to feed his mentally challenged twin brother Vishnu. In his childhood, Siva's parents (Benarjee and Subhashini), chain his brother Vishnu, because he is a mentally challenged fellow. Siva loves his brother very much. When his father plans to send Vishnu to Canada and join him in a mental asylum with the help of his friend there, Siva takes away Vishnu and reaches Hyderabad. In order to feed Vishnu, Siva works hard but earn very little money. Later he takes up stealing money from the corrupt and joins his brother in a mental asylum run by Lalitha Subrahmanyam (Sujata). Later, he grows up and continues his robbing spree, while he works as bus conductor.

Once he robs Rs 1.5 crore from a Minister (Ramireddy) and donates the money to an organisation called GOD run by Father Karunakaran (Ranganath), which distributes the money to various mental asylums. With the efforts of Siva, several philanthropists from various countries come forward to donate Rs 1,000 crore to GOD. In order to grab the money, a crook called Jagadish Prasad [Vijayan] manages to become the chairman of the GOD organisation. Siva finds that Jagadish is none other than a goon, who converts street children into beggars. When Siva escapes from the house and reaches Hyderabad, it is Jagadish, who breaks the hand and leg of Vishnu to convert him a beggar. So, Siva decides to teach him a lesson. Jagadish's sister-in-law Nandini [Neha Dhupia] helps him in videographing his real personality. By screening the film, Siva impresses upon the philanthropists not to give the chairman's post to Jagadish and pleads with them to give the post to Lalitha Subrahmanyam. As the chairman's post eludes him, Jagadish Prasad wanted to take a revenge against Siva and arranges a bomb in the mental asylum run by Lalitha Subrahmanyam. At the same time, he kidnaps Nandini and attempts to rape her. However, Vishnu saves her and kills Jagadish. Then, Siva surrenders to police and gets released in a short while. Later Siva marries Nandini.
Music Music by Vidyasagar is not up to the mark, though a couple of songs choreographed well.
Performance Rajasekhar played a dual role in the film. He gave an impressive performance in the role of a mentally challenged person. Bhupinder Singh of Tammudu-fame made a comeback in the film and is seen in a fight. Both the child artistes gave excellent performance. Other artistes played well to their limitations.
