Singeetham Srinivasa Rao known for directing films of different kind like 'Vichitra Sodarulu', 'Pushpaka Vimanam', 'Michael Madana Kama Raju' following the current trend chose a routine love story for Suresh Productions. With his excellent screenplay and direction he maintained good tempo throughout the movie.

Coming to story, Raju (Raja) is a tribal boy. When he was some months old, he gets affected with some disease and the villagers wanted to bury him alive in superstition. However, Chandrasekhar (Muralimohan), a tribal welfare officer, saves the boy from the village elders and brings him up. He gives him good education and admits him into a college. Chandrasekhar's ambition is that Raju should achieve Gold Medal and stand as a role model to his entire community. Once Raju happens to see Usha (Gazala), who conducted a fashion show for the benefit of Mentally Retarded and loses his heart. One fine morning, he gets a chance to reveal his love towards her and she also accepts his love immediately. When Usha's father (Giribabu) broaches about her alliance with some boy, Usha reveals that she was in love with Raju. So her father advises her to invite him to a party being hosted by him. In the party, Raju's friends lie that his father is a big industrialist and always stays in the US. So Usha's father gladly accepts Raju as his son-in-law. But Raju does not like this and decides to reveal it to Usha and writes a letter. His friends, who promise him to give that letter to Usha fail to deliver it.

Usha's father invites Raju and Usha to Goa on an official trip and Raju, who believes that she got his letter and forgave him, enjoys his trip with Usha. His friends also reach Goa to tell him the fact that they could not give the letter to Usha. After Usha and her father leaves for Hyderabad, his friends reveal the matter to Raju. Disappointed over this, Raju returns to Hyderabad and decides to tell the fact to Usha immediately. He, however could not do this because he gets an information that his mother is unwell. Usha's brother (Rajiv Kanakala) comes to know that Raju is a poor tribal boy and make his sister know who Raju is. Usha could not digest the fact that Raju lied to her and starts hating him. She did not listen to Raju or his friends. Falling in love and later gets dejected, Raju neglects his studies and the goal he was set to achieve. In this juncture, Usha comes to Raju's village on a botanical tour. There Chandrasekhar meets her and reveals the goal Raju was set to achieve and requests her to at least pretend love towards him till he achieves the goal. Usha accepts to the offer and Raju stands first in the examinations and achieves gold medal. Again Raju's friends play spoilsport and he rejects the gold medal as he learns that they threatened the examiner to give good marks to Raju. But finally, the Principal and others of the college tell Raju that the one who was threatened had not valued his answer sheet and the marks he got were genuine. Usha realises that Raju is a gentleman and give value to the truth accepts his love whole-heartedly. The film ends on a happy note.

Every one gave good performance. Comedy by AVS or Brahmanandam was okay also Sunil and Sunil Shetty gave good comedy. Music by Koti is good and many of the songs were quite foot tapping.
