'Tagore' is the remake of Tamil movie 'Ramana'. Director VV Vinayakan has done an excellent job with screenplay and direction. He also makes a special appearance as Tagore's student in the movie. Mega star Chiranjeevi is at his best in this movie. His histrionics are brilliant and is excellent in dance numbers too.

Tagore

Coming to story, Tagore (Chiranjeevi) is a college professor who runs an outfit called ACF (Anti corruption force) whose aim is to eliminate bribery and corruption in government offices. All members of this coalition work under cover and are government officers. They keep sending data and important information to their leader Tagore, to carry out their operations. Their plan is to kidnap the 15 most corrupt officers in any department and kill the most corrupt of them all. This spreads panic and fear among the rest. Tagore meets Devaki (Shriya) a social worker cum college student whom he saves from the clutches of some gangsters. Slowly her respect for Tagore turns into love, as he is also single.
However, Tagore is not attracted to this girl, as love does not hold any priority on his list. In a flashback, it is revealed that Tagore was a happily married man with a pregnant wife Nandu (Jyothika) and a three-year-old son. His family is wiped out when his flat collapses, as it was built on a marshy land that was sanctioned by corrupt officials. However, all his attempts to expose the builder- tycoon Badri Narayana (Sayaji Shinde) fail since he has bought all the officials including the ministers and top police officers. This was the reason for him to form ACF. Now ACF targets the underworld and the prime person is Badri. The rest of the film is how Badri is brought to book and the law catching up with Tagore and his ACF.

Tagore
The last 40 minutes are the highlight of the film. Chiranjeevi delivered a mind-blowing performance. Dialogues by Paruchuri Brothers are punchy and received good response from the audiences. Shriya played the role of a young student cum social worker. Though her screen time is not much, she made her presence felt. Jyothika's role too is short but has a lasting impact as a homely obedient wife. Prakash Raj gave his usual best. Sunil's comedy is good especially when he imitates the famous veena step of Chiranjeevi in 'Indra'. Puneet Issar, Sayaji Shinde (debut in Telugu), K.Vishwanath and Kota Srinivas as usual gave good performances. Songs choreography is good. Action sequences deserve a special mention. Vijayan master's fights are breath taking. The movie doesn't have much comedy since the subject of the movie is very serious. Mani Sharma’s songs are already a hit and the "Taagoor, Taagoor" background is smashing. To sum up 'Tagore' is a must watch super hit movie.
