'Show' is an entirely different product. Director Neelakanta had excelled in narrating the story, with perfect dialogues and marvelous screenplay for 'Show'. Manjula had shown an extraordinary performance, while Surya perfectly suited to the character. He does such a fantastic performance in the film. The story revolves around just two characters. The film won a national award for screenplay.

A girl Rithama [Manjula] comes from Delhi to meet a professor to sign an agreement for patent rights for some ayurvedic medicine. However, she finds a message from the professor that he was going away on an urgent work and asks her to wait for a few hours. Madhav [Surya], a junior advocate, also reaches the place with the agreement papers prepared for the purpose. Madhav is an emotional man, who gets harassed by his wife for not earning enough money and leading a middle class life. He could not decide whether to stay till the professor comes or go away. However, he stays back at the advise of Rithama. When Rithama felt bored, Madhav decides to entertain her and proposes to play a practical drama. But she could not play her role well and they drop the idea later.
During their discussion, he comes out in open, how he was suffering from his wife's harassment and about his son Shambhu. Rithama also understands the command of his wife Sandhya from a telephonic conversion between Madhav and Sandhya. When Rithama says that she was hungry, Madhav promises to serve her a good lunch in just one hour. True to his word, he cooks a good lunch for her. After lunch, Madhav again reveals how he wanted to become an artiste and wasted five long years. He says that he could not put more efforts as he got married and settled in life as a junior advocate. He tells Rithama that there will be an actor in everyone and she could also act. He directs her and made her to act.
After getting enough self-confidence, Rithama again proposes to play the practical drama which they planned in the morning. The theme of that 'Show' is a wife and husband, who always quarrel with each other. Their friends send them to a secluded place so that they forget all their differences and understand each other. But, they could not understand each other and the situation goes to the extent that they get divorced each other. Both Madhav and Rithama involve in the characters and practically, Madhav, who was facing frustration from his wife turns very emotional and sees his wife in Rithama and beats her. In a fit of anger, Rithama also shouts in a high pitch at him and Madhav takes a knife to kill himself. In order to control him from stabbing himself and bring him out of that emotion, Rithama claps and declares that he gave an excellent performance. With that the 'Show' ends.
The movie has no songs. At the same time, the acts of Surya itself involved different emotions. Moreover, there are no obscene scenes though the entire story runs between a boy and a girl. The film had an excellent screenplay. As a whole it is a good entertainer.
To sum up it is a good movie. It can be rated above average. If you appreciate quality then 'Show' is your kind of movie.
