'Pilisthe Palukutha' has Vijaychander playing the role of SaiBaba. Pilisthe Palukutha has a religious touch with modern approach. Director Kodi Ramakrishna has given a modern touch to this movie that deals with two lovers where the hero does not believe in god and the heroine is a deep believer. Finally the movie conveys the message that if we deeply believe in god, he does show his presence.
The movie starts with SaiBaba (Vijaya chander) promising Nanaji (Chandra Mohan) a devotee, to show the tale of lovers to prove himself as Premasai.
Ajay (Aakash) a rich man's son loves Shanti (Shamita Shetty) who is a strong devotee of Baba. But Ajay does not believe in the presence of God. Once all the students meet in the marriage of the daughter of their college principal. At the venue, Shanthi gets injured and inadvertently Ajay ties a cloth, which was dipped in turmeric. So Shanthi feels that it was a wedding knot.
Towards the climax the story takes a turn, Suddenly we come to know that Shanti suffers from brain tumor. One of her close family friend pesters her to come with him to US, because there was a doctor, who could conduct an operation and cure her disease. That doctor was reluctant to visit Hyderabad, and at the same time, Shanti refuses to go to US. Mallesh Yadav (Sunil) comes to know about the disease, but Shanti takes a word from Mallesh not to reveal it to Ajay. But however Ajay comes to know about Shanti's tumor. Shanthi asks Ajay, to pray to Saibaba for her recovery. Ajay prays to Baba to save his love from death. Finally Baba comes as a doctor to operate Shanthi and saves her from the deathbed.
Vijaychander as Saibaba was excellent. Akash and Shamita also acted well. Comedy is okay and Music by Keeravani is good. It is a good social movie with a religious touch.
