"Kubusam", focuses on all the Harsh realities that exist in our society even today after five decades of independence. First half of the film forms an interesting base. Second half is action oriented.

For Actor Srihari this time it is not action alone but also a challenging role, he is there to give a message through the film 'Kubusam', in which he plays a small role.
Hariprasad (Giri) is a doctor who serves the poor in a remote village of Nizam area, instead of using his profession to make money in the city. In this process, he also misses his near and dear ones, expecially his medico girl friend Seema (Swapna). his girlfriend Seema (Swapna), who lives in the city. But Hariprasad is broad minded, honest and efficient doctor whose only aim in life is to spread happiness among the villagers and render some free service to the poor people. But the village is ruled by affluent landlords and corrupts politicians who join their hands together to rob the poor man and kill those who appose them, and they also indulge in malicious destruction of public and private property.
The agony and suffering of the villagers grows as the law and order also fails to help them. Although there are people lamenting about the torture that they are being subjected to, they find no way to help themselves. Those who crib, carp and complain against the concerned authorities are brutally attacked and mercilessly killed.
Doctor Hariprasad questions the baddies and he is about to be hacked by the police, when Sivaram (Srihari) enters the scene to rescue him. Frustrated by the attitude of administration and police towards the poor, Hari Prasad joins the People's War Group and is made as commander for a sub group with an alias name Sankaranna.
In the process, there comes an honest and wily IPS officer Ashok. He is a nice human being, but would not shy away from conning the weaklings in ultras to get his work done. Slowly, he eliminates Sivaram and other key cadre people.
How these men seek revenge and find justice and succeed in their efforts is the climax of the film.
Vandhemataram Srinivas's music is excellent and adds to the mood of the film.
