'Dhanalakshmi I Love You' is a frame to frame remake of Priyadarshan's laugh riot Hera Pheri. The comparison ends there. As the Tollywood star cast is no match for the Bollywood foursome - Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Paresh Rawal and Tabu.
The film is about two unemployed youth and their godfather who are desperately in need of money. Shyam (Aditya) comes to the city to try for a bank job. He takes a room for rent, which he has to share with a happy-go-lucky chap Raju (Naresh), in the house of a mechanic Babu Rao (Naresh Sr.). Shyam and Raju are always at loggerheads with each other Raju also foils Shyams attempts to secure the bank job and sees that it goes to Dhanalaxmi Agarwal (Ankita).
All of them have financial difficulties. And to their aid comes a wrong phone call, apparently from kidnapper Kabira, who presuming the person on the other end to be industrialist Durga Prasad, demands Rs 20 lakh as ransom to release his granddaughter! The heroes smell an opportunity, they call up the real Durga Prasad and demand Rs 40 lakh and plan to pay Kabira half the amount. What follows is a hide-and-seek game.
The entire film revolves round the comic escapades of the trio and they succeed in leaving you rolling on the floor. Music is average.
An okay film if you are desperately looking for some fun.
