Vishnuvardhan's second film, Suryam, is much worse than his debut film, Vishnu. It has neither good story, nor music, not even a good presentation. The only difference from his first film is that Suryam shows Vishnu has improved as a hero – in performances. The basic storyline of the movie is outdated. Added to it, director Samudra’s lean narration makes the life even more boorish.

Story:
Suryam (Vishnu) loses his mother in an electric shock. His uncle (Giribabu), a neighbor actually, too loses his life in a bid to save her leaving his daughter Swathi (Veda) with Suryam. It happens when Suryam is just 10 years kid. When a police inspector’s son (Kota) kills another boy with his cricket bat, Suryam takes the crime on him and goes to reform jail making a deal with the inspector that he should sponsor Swathi’s education.

Years later, Suryam returns from Jail but continues to accept other crimes on his in order to get money. That money he’d give it to Swathi for her medical education. Meanwhile, he continues to talk with his dead mother with a coin, on which he imprints his mother face. Before taking up any new decision, he tosses the coin in the air. If he coin turns with his mother face, he takes up the work. It is not Bomma Borusu. Amma Borusu.

One such occasion he accepts a rich politician’s daughter crime Madhulatha (Celina Jaitley). Madhulatha falls in love with him seeing his generous nature and his ‘glory past’. He also bashes up her father (Mukheshi Rishi) when he tries to escape from hit and run case. This politico father tries to take revenge on Suryam. Meanwhile, Madhulatha tells her father that she’s in love with Suryam.

So, politico father accepts her love only to kill Suryam later. When she learns this, she and Suryam escapes from that place. After long chase and breaking lots of cars, glasses and others, hero gets hurt in a bomb blast and lands up in hospital. In a most stupid climax, the politico father gives sedation to hero and tries to kill Swathy but hero in the end wakes up from hospital bed and teaches the villains a lesson.


Music:Music by Chakri is mediocre.
Performance:
Vishnu has definitely improved as actor and did an good job in all departments. He is very good at action and dance numbers. Celina Jaitley and Veda are just about okay. Mohan Babu’s guest appearance goes unnoticed. Mukesh Rishi is his usual self.
Verdict
Below Average.
