'Shock' directed by Harish Shankar has a thin storyline. He tried to handle the routine story in a different way and partly succeeded in his attempt. The story has resemblance with that of 'Manoharam'.
Shekhar (Raviteja) and Madhurima (Jyothika) are happy married couple. Everything is fine in their life till the moment the two police officers (Subbaraju, Ravi Kale) shoot Shekhar mistakenly. He sustains injury but escapes. To cover up their mistake, the two police officers throw false alligations on Shekhar that he is a terrorist and make him imprisoned. The two even kill Madhurima who tries hard to make her husband acquittal. This makes Shekhar decide himself to take revenge on the two police officers. He is escaped. And how he takes revenge on the rivals with the help of journalist Geetha (Tabu), forms the rest of the story.
Performance:
Raviteja's character has two shades, one is that of a caring husband and the other as a ferocious man. He performed well. His mass appeal in the second half is a plus point to the movie. Jyothika is well suited to the wife character. Tabu justified her role as journalist and the one who helps out the couple. Brahmanandam has a tiny role to perform and evoked good laughter. Kota Sreenivas Rao as lawyer in a negative role performed well. All the others performed adequately. First half of the movie is ok. Second half has the revenge by Raviteja. Coming to the technical aspects, Music given by Ajay - Atul is good. Madhuram Madhuram song is melodious. Dialogues by Kona Venkat forms one of the highlights. Photography and production are the plus points of the movie. Direction and other aspects are ok.
