'Prayatnam' has a novel subject but the narrative technique used is too slow and the screenplay has many loopholes. The film tries to convey the fact that suicide is not a solution to solve a problem.

Story:
Pruthvi is the only son of a business tycoon who marries Sujitha an employee in his dad’s company (obviously against his father’s wish). The couple is over a period of time blessed with two children. Surya is an employee in Pruthvi’s company. Pruthvi is once cheated by him, still he pardons the err and appoints him back. Considering this Surya once again backstabs Pruthvi. He is once again pardoned. Krishna Bhagawan and Narsingh Yadav too plot a conspiracy against Pruthvi and plunder him of the 3lakh rupees that he borrows as a loan from L.B.Sriram. With nothing left to get the lost money back and nowhere to go, Pruthvi along with his family commits suicide. What happens next forms the crux of the story.


Music:Music by Saket Sairam is mediocre.
Performance:
Pruthvi's performance is excellent, his expressions and body language are perfect. Nagendra Babu has given a commendable performance. All the other artists performance is above average.
