'Premalo Pavani, Kalyan' is a stereotype love story. The story lacks both novelty and creativity. The only plus point of the film is music. Debutant movie director Polur Ghatikachalam's (story writer of Sampangi)direction was not impressive. Screenplay of the film is sluggish.
Kalyan (Deepak) is a youngman who got educated in the US. But he had utmost faith and honour towards the elders and the country. He comes to India to marry an Indian girl as per the wishes of his parents. Pavani (Ankitha) is also a girl who continued her education in the US and visits India. But Pavani had no faith in love and love marriages. She visits India to take part in the marriage of her relatives. The mobiles of both Pavani and Kalyani change hands at a restaurant on the day they reached India.
Kalyan's parents fix his marriage with Pavani. Kalyan tells his parents that he would marry the girl whom they fixed and goes to the wedding of their relatives to see Pavani. However, both the girls i.e the one whom Kalyan's parents fixed and the other girl from the US attend the same wedding. So Kalyan mistakes the other Pavani and fall in love with her. In fact, Pavani's father Jayaprakash (Jayaprakash Reddy) and Kalyan's father Dasaratha (Ranganath) are good friends. However, Jayaprakash's brother ditches the sister of Dasaratha and both become bitter foes. But Pavani and Kalyan unknowingly fall in love. Kalyan comes to know during the course of the relative's marriage that the Pavani whom he loved is not the one who was selected by his parents. Though Pavani's father warns her not to go to Kalyan's house, she did not care for it and keeps moving close to Kalyan and his parents. Though Kalyan is against marrying some one whom he did not love, he accepts to his parents' proposal and decides to marry the other Pavani.
At this juncture, the other Pavani, whose marriage got fixed with Kalyan, loves some other and our hero and heroine help them get married as the bridegroom's parents are against it. Finally, the love pair Pavani and Kalyan gets united. Kota Srinivasa Rao played a romantic role though he portrayed the character of Kalyan's grandfather.
Deepak and Ankita gave good performance. Jaya Prakash Reddy has given a neat performance, which is different from his earlier works. Kota played the sporting grandpa to hero. Ranganath did a good job. Comedy is ok. Songs are melodious. Music by Ghantadi Krishna is good.
