'Ottesi Cheputunna' is a love story with entertainment. Director Sattibabu, who gave a hilarious comedy like 'Tirumala Tirupati Venkatesha' and 'O Chinadana' gave another good entertainer 'Ottesi Cheputunna'. Chintapalli Ramana's dialogues are okay and Vidyasagar gave melodious tunes to many of the songs. They were also choreographed excellently.

Coming to story, Surya (Srikanth) who always considers himself unlucky believes in God and prays Vinayaka. However, things change with an unexpected letter in which he finds the photograph of a girl called Divya (Sravanthi). As he happened to see her photograph after waking up, the day tuned a good day for him and he gets the promotion as Bank manager. When he watches her face by chance in a television, he gets back his property. He then considers that she was her lady luck and decides to marry her. Nelabaludu (Sunil) is his childhood friend who works as a peon in the same bank.
Surya starts searching for her address and finally finds Divya's address. In order to bag her love, Surya shares the room with Dileep (Shivaji), who already occupied the upper portion of that girl's house. However, Divya is already in love with Dileep, who was also an orphan and poor. Divya's father Rules Ranga Rao (LB Sriram) is particular that his son-in-law should be in employment. Unless Dileep gets a job, he could not convince Ranga Rao for his marriage with Divya.

As Surya joins the room of Dileep, Divya appeals to Surya to bail them out by recommending him a job. With a strong intention to marry Divya, Surya tries to separate Dileep from her. Upon realising that Divya is in deep love with Dileep, Surya decides to sacrifice his love. As Nelabaludu knows very well about Surya's love towards Divya, he continues to make his efforts to push Dileep aside and unite Surya and Divya. Once, he finds Dileep with another girl Rani (Anita Patel) in a love affair. Upon knowing his true colours, Nelabaludu gets a strong desire to keep Dileep away from Divya. But all his efforts go waste, as Surya decides to sacrifice his love. Finally, during the marriage function of Divya with Dileep, Nelabaludu happens to see Rani and brings the truth out and unites Surya with Divya.
Srikanth gave good performance. Sravanthi is cute and exactly fits in the character. Shivaji's character has two shades as a lover boy in the beginning and a negative role in the second half. He improved a lot in performance. Sunil got a good character and has a full length role in the film. He gave a good comedy. Comedy track by Kallu Chidambaram, Mallikarjuna Rao, Brahmanandam, LB Sriram is good. To sum up 'Ottesi Cheputunna' is a good family entertainer.
