Nagarjuna is moving on a winning streak with successive hits. Director VN Aditya, who knows the pulse of the audiences well, had chosen a delicate love subject for his latest film 'Nenunnanu'. The director had many successes to his credit. Kamakshi Movies had maintained high production values all through the film without any compromise, and the entire family can watch it happily, as it had not even a single scene containing vulgarity.

StoryVenu is an orphan, who was brought up by a clerk (Hemasundar) in Visakhapatnam port. Venu completes MBA and starts a transport and contract business in the port itself. Anu (Shriya) is the daughter of a music teacher, who wanted to see his daughter on a high pedestal. Sruthi (Arthi Agarwal) is her friend, and is the daughter of an advocate. At a time when Anu is going to give a concert at Chennai, she elopes with Arun (Subbaraju), with whom she fell in love. Arun is the son of famous industrialist and millionaire JP (Mukhesh Rushi). When they were about to board a train, Venu helps the police in catching Arun. However, Anu finds fault with Venu for helping the police catch Arun. Venu decides to unite them and takes Anu to her house. But her father refuses to allow her inside. So, Venu takes her to his house and tries to convince JP.
Venu decides to get her married at any cost. So he goes to Arun, who was kept in the safe hands of a rowdy called Durga (Pasupathi). Venu rescues Arun and gets him married to Anu. After their marriage, JP reaches the venue and blames his son for marrying a girl, who stayed with a bachelor under one roof. Suspecting her fidelity, Arun leaves with his father. Again Venu pleads with Arun for several times on several occasions that there is no affair between them but to no avail. In order to change her bad mood, Venu advises Anu to join a music college and earn a good name as an artiste, so that her family would take her back. After some time she gets selected to a competition called 'Nightingale of India' from Vizag. Venu takes her to Hyderabad at the cost of a project worth crores of rupees in his business keeping an eye on her welfare. There he learns that JP is trying to get Arun married again. He goes to the venue and spoils the entire programme. At the same time, Anu removes the sacred thread (Mangala Sutram) and throws it on Arun's face, out of frustration that he suspected her fidelity despite saying that he loved her so much.

Irked over the development, JP's goons and Arun attack Venu when he was going to attend the finals of the programme along with Anu. She bags the first prize in the competition and during their return, her family happily invite her back to their house. However, she realises that she was in love with Venu, though they behaved like good friends during their stay under one roof. In fact, it is Sruthi, who falls in love with Venu and dreams of many duets with him. But Venu did never treat her in the manner and just took her as the friend of Anu only. Venu also realises that he was in love with Anu. Sruthi's parents who happened to read her diary plan to marry her with Venu. At this juncture, Sruthi finds that Anu is in love with Venu and decides to sacrifice her love, because Anu already failed in love once and might not be able to digest another failure. So, she tells her father about this and drops from the love game. In the climax, JP and Durga's goons kidnap Anu. Coming to know about this, Venu and Sruthi reach the place. In the scuffle, Pasupathi stabs Anu and injures her grievously. Venu takes the help of Sruthi in admitting her to hospital and he takes care of the goons. Later Anu and Venu which forms the climax of the movie.
Music Keeravani gave melodious tunes to all the songs.
Performance Nagarjuna gave his best performance and looked handsome in the film. Shriya performed extremely well as the entire movie moves around her character. rthi Agarwal had three duets with Nagarjuna, though she was nicknamed as 'gas cylinder' by the hero. Shriya had only one duet with the hero. All the other characters gave their best in their respective roles, while the comedy by Brahmanandam, Ali, Sivareddy and Sunil is okay.
