Music director Ramana Gogula debuts as producer with 'Boni', also it is debut for Raj Pippalla as a
director. Title 'Boni' sounds apt from producer and director point of view. Presentation,
Cinematography and editing is good but screenplay falls flat. Direction has some
loopholes.
Story:
Story is about Pragathi (krithi) who works with an NGO and
wants to help the poor farmers. Even though her father (ahuti Prasad) being a minister
does not help and she decides to take matters in her own hands. She stages a kidnap
drama so that ransom can be taken to help the farmers. However, things take a turn
when she gets kidnapped by goons DD (sumanth) and Chinna (trinetrudu) on
instructions from Das (jayaprakash) and Giri (tanikella). Their mian goal is to set
up a 'Pulihora; (lemon rice, mango rice) centre and hence all this. However, in no
time DD falls in love with Pragathi and starts helping her out with her problems.
What happens next forms the crux of the story.
Music:
Music by Ramana Gogula is good. Few of the song numbers were peppy.
Performance:
Sumanth was okay, he needs to improve his acting skills when it comes to mass roles. Krithi did a
good job. Trinetrudu was apt. Other supporting were apt and did justice to their roles.
Verdict:
Overall 'Boni' is a good movie to watch, it has some good subtle comedy. Story is not routine. Can
be watched once. 'Boni' can be rated as an average movie.
