Director Surendar Reddy has come back with a different story for 'Ashok'. His selection of
artists is good. The film has all the ingredients like action, love and sentiments to attract
NTR's fans. The director succeeds in presenting an interesting masala entertainer.
Ashok (NTR), an Automobile Engineer, is a bit high on emotions and fury. This behaviour of
Ashok forces his father to throw him out of his family. Ashok lives separately as a mechanic
but tries every chance to win his father's heart. Meanwhile, he falls in love with a classical
dancer Anjali (Sameera Reddy) and wins her love. One day, he beats up the brother of a
dreaded gangster KK (Sonu Sood). KK decides to take revenge on Ashok. KK sets his eyes
on Anjali and forces her to marry him. KK even kills Ashok's close buddy Rajiv. And how
Ashok succeeds in eliminating the baddies is to be seen on the silver screens.
Performance:
Hero NTR did the title role well. He excels in the sentimental sequences and action
episodes. His dance sequences are improved. Sameera Reddy also did her job well. She
still needs to improve in some sequences. Sonu Sood's role as a baddie, is impressive.
Prakash Raj has performed as usually good. Jeeva's performance is fine. The others did
upto the content. The technical aspects are noteworthy. Manisharma's music stands out.
Cinematography and stunts are interesting. First half of the movie is good. The second half
is mediocre. Story and direction are fine.
