'Aptudu' has a routine story line with no punch, the presentation of the script is very weak. The main theme of the movie is influenced by Bollywood flick 'Ghatak'. Direction by Muthyala Subbaiah disappoints this time, though he had earlier directed Rajasekhar in as many as eight movies. The webbing of scenes seems deliberate often. The screenplay looses the thread now and then, leading to boredom. First half is average and Second half is nagging.
Story:Bose (Rajasekar) hails from a village and comes to Hyderabad for providing treatment to his brother (Chandra Mohan). He happens to meet the heroine (Anjala Jhaveri), who becomes a sort of guide to him in the city. Casually, the girl takes him to the colony, where she lives. Now, the colony becomes the centre of attraction. The entire story revolves round this colony. A local goon Peddaiah Reddy (Mukesh Rishi) wants to encroach this piece of land by hook or by crook. His brothers assist him in this ruthless exercise. As usual, Bose interferes and becomes a big headache to the villain, who is all out to kill him and undo the colony. Amidst raging rift, the hero becomes the guardian angel to the colony residents. The climax brings the villains brothers to ruthless lynching by the public, while hero puts an end to the main villain.
Music: Music by Ramana Gogula is not up to the mark. Except for a couple of songs, the other numbers hold no real power to entertain the mass.
Performance: Rajasekar has come out with a roaring performance, he did bring justice to his characterisation. Anjala Zhaveri who made a come back after a long gap in Telugu is a perfect match to the role. She looked glamorous. Mukesh Rishi played the villain role to a perfect finish. Chandra Mohan and Satyanarayana were apt in their roles. Sunil's comedy is okay.
Verdict Average.
