'Andhrudu' is a typical faction movie. The only difference is that instead of Rayalseema, the backdrop is Bihar. Story is weak and direction is mediocre.
Story:
Surendra (T Gopichand) is an honest and hot-blooded cop. Archana (Gowri Pandit) is the daughter of a police commissioner. Archana is a singer who was trained by Surendra’s mother. The relationship between Surendra and Archana blossoms into love. Archana's father is from Bihar. Parents settle the match of Surendra and Archana. When they are about to get engaged, Archana backs out since she realises that her parents would get in trouble if she did not marry the Bihar’s local don's (Sayaji Shinde) son (Salim Baig). Archana goes back to Bihar to wed her hubby in waiting Sinha (Salim Baig). Now Surendra goes to Bihar and wins Archana back from the arms of the local don.
Performance:
Gopichand is the only saving grace in the film. He gives a good account, as the gun-wielding cop. Heroine Gowri is tolerable. The comedy track is lame. Sayaji Shinde overacts. Salim Baig is okay in performance.
Music: Music by Kalyani Malik is adequate.
Verdict: Average.
